A Story's Beginnings

Hello Everyone!  This is a short piece I composed in my head last night.  I hope you read and enjoy it. (:

6:30 AM, and the incessant voice of an alarm clock blared, blatantly informing her the time of sleep had passed.  “Some mornings come too soon,” she thought, as she rolled over in her covers.  Half-heartedly, she pulled the blankets off, revealing her striped pajama shorts and unshaven legs.  Summoning strength from her half-awakened state, she swung her legs over the side of mattress, planting them firmly on the cold hard wood floor.  As the chill ran up through her legs, brain synapses began to communicate, and awareness of another day began.
She tiredly walked to her mirror, to behold the night’s effect.  The woman in front of her possessed disheveled brown hair, smeared eye makeup, and traces of sleep lines amidst blemishes on her cheeks.  She stared for a moment, then quietly and resolvedly whispered to herself, “today, I will be beautiful.”   A short time elapsed following this hopeful decision; she washed her face, combed her hair into a cute messy bun, touched on some cover-up, and pulled a loose-fitting blouse over her figure.  She re-visited her mirror, and although no extreme change was reflected, there was a glow about her face that was apparent.  She had chosen to see herself as beautiful.

    1. I don't know what happens next! It was more of a sudden spur of creativity than an inspired story line. But I'll be thinking...:)
